Starting with a Plan

Read the devotion in the workshop three description and answer the following question.

How can we relate God’s Word to designing a worksheet or presentation?

  1. i think that God, when creating a new person, has a plan from the time the baby is conceived and all throughout their life of what that person will be. when designing a presentation or worksheet we too need to take time to prepare so that we know where we are going with it. without a plan things would be a mess and there would be no goal to achieve. If you put thought into everything you do the chances of it turning out the way you would like it to are much higher.

  2. I think about it like this... Have you ever opened up someone else's spreadsheet and try to reverse-engineer what they've done? You go back and click cells to look in the formulas and find where each one is linked to try and figure out what it is they are calculating and how they got there... I think it's kind of similar to what we do with God's plan. While He already knows what we are, how we're made, where we're going, etc.; we spend a lot of time looking in the formulas trying to figure out what to do from here.

It's important when you start something from scratch that you have a good idea about what you want out of it. With a spreadsheet, what kind of data are you trying to record and do you need to calculate an end result? With a presentation, who is your audience and what story are you trying to tell? Then you develop your 'core' parts, then lay the road ahead to get there. Very similar to the way God works with us - though I never would have seen the similarity before.

  3. Before starting a project I think we need to have a clear view of its future. Who is it meant for, who will be seeing it, what is the purpose of it, how will it look, etc... Like God knew us before we were born, we need to have a good idea of the end point so that the beginning, middle and end have a very clear purpose.

  4. If God's glory and salvation cannot be adequately expressed without artistic expression, and if He has hard wired you as His worship and arts ministry specialists, then you need to passionately pursue Him - now! Surrender more fully to Him. Fall more deeply in love with Him, no matter what the cost, no matter what the criticism, no matter what your frailties are. He will come and save you. He will come and mold you. He will come and heal you. He will come and hear you, and help you, and guide you, and guard you in Jesus. And then He'll be flinging you all over the world - joining bands of His choicest servants - helping lead His peoples into culturally relevant worship and proclamation of His salvation and community impact

  5. I believe we need to look at how God creates before we create. God knows what his creations need to be successful. In turn we need to ahead of our designs and try and determine what they need to be successful. Obviously we do not have the same ability as God to know what is to come. However, we were made in his image; therefore we have part of his creative power.

  6. When were working on a presentation we need to think how this affects the people who will see it. We should be thinking about Gods word before/while we do anything in life. When we do anything even designing a worksheet or presentation and we think about Gods word we have the most powerful weapon at our disposal. If we think about God in the things we do everything will make sense slides will flow and everything else adds up. God’s word is like a formula we use in a spreadsheet once we learn Gods word the reasons were here adds up…the formulas make sense. Carl Hronek ADM-316-A

  7. In creating any thing under our name we should consider what impact our data will have on those who view it. Creating this data should be for the benfit of all and not portray any dihonesty or misrepresentation of any numbers to any facts.

Developing documents in order for others to understnad a current position should be with the utmost protection of the material it contains in order to represnt factual data and not to deceive those interpreting the data.

  8. I guess that I feel like everyone should start out with some basis of a plan with everything that they do in life. Without doing this, it can make your intentions very unclear to others and they may perchieve your thoughts the wrong way. If we all make sure to follow directions clearly, then the intended actions should be apparent and not falsely understood. I believe that everyone should always try to communicate the right thing with others and not mislead them in anyway while. While preparing any type of worksheets or presentations, you should always think about what is being said on the slides and how the information could affect the people viewing them and to make sure that they can understand the intentions of the slide.

  9. First of all we need the integrity to design something that is our work. We cannot steal from someone else. We need to make sure the work is all ours and not ideas from others. God will lead you in the way he wants you to go, so being in tune with him will help in the preparation of the file.

  10. I think we can relate God's word to creating worksheets or presentations by being ethical. It's God's will for us to be ethical and honest in everything we do. We should always strive to do a presentation for example to the best of our ability. We should also only take credit for work that is our own.

  11. God’s word can be related to anything we do because we are His children and we require His wisdom. The advancement of technology has been used in two ways, good and evil, the devotion spoke about these two ways by including the words “integrity” and “crooked.” When a man walks with integrity in terms of technology, that man has utilized technology in a good way by spreading the word of God. However, if “crooked paths” are taken, then that means that a man utilized technology in a sinful manner. Matt Hunter BSMO169-ADM-316

  12. We must apply God's Word to everything we do. We must be honest about our worl and present the truth to our clients in business and to our co-workers as well. We must walk the straight path with integrity. Our work should reflect that, and that would include designing worksheets and presentations. K Miller - BSMO169-ADM-316

  13. I believe that in anything we do we must consider the feelings and wellbeing of others as we do it. Creating a worksheet or presentation is no different. We must consider the good of all involved and not use a worksheet or presentation to diminish the work of others while praising our own. If you do this your peers and superiors will catch on eventually, but more importantly, God will know right away. Brian Hart

  14. I think we can relate God's word to obtaining software by retrieving it the right way. I am a firm believer of the saying that "cheaters never win." Therefore if you are copying software, this is considered stealing and there may be consequences if they are caught. When you have a certain level of integrity, there are certain priniples that you live by because you don't want to diminish your character in any way.

  15. Proverbs 10:9 (NIV)
“The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.”

How can we relate God’s Word to obtaining software?

This is a wonderful scripture and we can relate God's word to obtain software by staying true to who we are and representing Christ. As Christians we are to walk in integrity and make sure that everything we do is based on who we are and who's we are. God see's everything and stealing is something we learn not to do at a very young age. If people would just sit back and think about what they are doing and the consequences to their actions maybe the world would be better. As Christians we should always know that God is watching us and we should present ourselves as having integrity, character, and honesty whether it's with technology, software or everyday living.

Because of our faith, Christ has healed us. Jesus brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

  17. Wow when I think of spreadsheets I instantly get wet palmed and maybe I can see the relationship with God because we worship a God never seen and we live by faith and not by sight and that can be a little scary at times but at the same time we know that he is there all the time and will pull us through. With the presentation being similar to God I cna see that because I enjoy doing presentations and actually is a pleasure to me and God is constantly revealing himself to me and I am growing closer to him and this is good and exciting at the same time and it feels right.

  18. In planning a spreadsheet or presentation, we can relate to God’s Word by not placing anything false or misleading in our project. By having the integrity to include all the factual information, we live up to what God is asking of us. Should any of the information included in the presentation be false, we would let God as well as ourselves down. Doing something shady will always come to light. Be honest and true and you’ll have the benefit of not having to look over your shoulder or be afraid of being found out.

  19. Proverbs makes it clear that our walk, regardless where it may be, should be honoring to God. Our walk at work or when we are working privately on the computer should be the same. Reporting information honestly, giving credit to whom it is due, being above board when it comes to morality and ethics - these are all necessary for anyone who claims to love God and to walk with him. Spicing up a spreadsheet with false information is never right - lies will always be found out in the end anyway!

  20. I believe in God's teaching! Honest people are safe and secure, but the dishonest will be caught. We should always remember God's teaching and always speak of truth. We have to think of God's guidance on every thing we do even if we are just developing a worksheet or presentation.

  21. The word say He knows the plans he has for us so in everything we do we must plan. No one would build a house or anything without having a blueprint or something drawn out to know what we want the final product to look like. God created heaven and earth in 6 days, so that tells me we should not rush to do anything but have a strategy in mind to accomplish our goals. Then we must press forward and not let anything hinder us from getting to our ultimate goal.

  22. When you start learning the process of how to design a worksheet or presentation you have very little knowledge and understanding. Starting out weak and unsecure of the process you make mistakes. You follow the step by step directions and ask many questions. In the beginning if someone would look at your presentation they would find errors. But as you grow with knowledge you gain security. This is the same way we start out seeking God. We have little knowledge and understanding of God’s will. As we study and read the Bible we start to see the right process that God wants in our lives. In the beginning, we might lack true integrity but, as we grow in God’s word we gain honesty and righteousness.

  23. God's Word is complex and contains deep meaningful information within it. Learning the details of building a spreadsheet or presentation is similar as we gain knowledge through the study of the materials and gain a deeper knowledge of the course work. Our lives grow closer to God as we study the Word. Our work benefits from our knowledge of these computer skills.

  24. We can relate God’s Word to designing a worksheet or presentation by putting our trust in Him. When we are designing a worksheet or making a presentation we should be honest in our efforts and in the information we are putting in the projects. God wants us to practice his teachings in every part of life. We start a project with the hope that we will gain something from it and that other people will learn and become interested in what information we are giving them. In the same way we learned of God and the sacrifices he made for us and the passion we want other people to have for Him. We teach others of the amazing things He did.

  25. I think that when God created us, he expects us to learn and progress spiritually from the beginning of our life and continue to grow all the way through our lives until we pass away and can go to heaven and be with Him. In a strangely same way we can take this approach when we do a presentation or teach someone something at work. If we give them knowledge and allow them to grow mentally at the beginning the middle parts and end will come easily. It starts at the beginning, that is the key to success. If we get it in the beginning the rest will be easier to ascertain. This goes for spirtuality and work related things.

  26. I would relate God’s Word/Proverbs 10:9 with designing a presentation or worksheet in the manner of our academic honesty statement. Those who post their own work will be like “The man of integrity,” and those who don’t “will be found out.” God desire is for us to be honest among other things and I feel it’s important that we not only practice what God desires on Sunday, but also in the realm of everyday business and personal actions.

  27. I feel that this can be related in the aspect of a spread sheet is common tool used in today's society. We get a spread sheet sent to us and we use it with no questions asked. Most of the time we do not even think about the time it took and what went on behind the scenes to create or nor do we even care who created it, only that it works. However, there is a lot of preparation that goes on to create a spread sheet as we learned in this class. I am assuming there is a lot going behind the scene that God takes care of that we do not know about as well. If the spread sheet we take for granted does not work (corrupted) then fingers are going to pointed and the creator of that spread sheet is going to be singled out and blamed for it, but until then the spread sheet creator might only sit behind the scene.

  28. The devotion is telling me that I should be honest and have integrity, for if you do not, you will be discovered at some point. If you are honest, you can be secure in your work and the presentations and worksheets you make. If you try to use the work of others as your own, this is being dishonest. Gaining with honesty means that you will become stronger and more secure of yourself because you have integrity.

  30. The devotion in workshop 3 is from Proverbs 10:9 and talks about walking securely on a straight path. This scripture passage reminds us that in everything we do, we should uphold our integrity. The work that we complete should be a reflection of us...and since we were made in God's image, a reflection of Him as well. Presenting truth is imperative. Giving credit to any cited sources is also a part of the presentation and culmination of facts and ideas of others should be noted clearly.

In addition, it is important to know the audience that one is intending to reach in regards to presented material....and for what purpose the presentation has. Is the presented material of selfish gain to the presenter? Being aware of one's own heart is key in being honest and upholding integrity. We should work for the good of the whole, not just for ourself and selfish gain.

  31. In this week’s devotion, it is clear by God’s Word that we are all under God’s watchful eye. When we design a worksheet or presentation, the work must be our own. If and when we choose to enhance or support our work by using someone else’s skills, words or knowledge, we must be sure to give them the full recognition their work deserves. In order to maintain one’s integrity, we must do what is honest and what is good. We cannot forget that if we take a crooked or wrong path, He is watching and we will be held accountable for our actions and thus will suffer the consequences.

  32. I believe it is extremely important to be a man (or woman) of honesty. I wouldn't want to purposely act in a way that would anger my family, friends or God. It's extremely important to act ethically and to be honest in everything you do. This can be applied when it comes to software. By contributing to the piracy problem, I think one would not be acting with honesty. Someone who borrows software from a friend, or knowingly buys pirated software, isn't acting with honesty or ethically. I believe God wouldn't want us to contribute to the piracy issue, since it has some many negative effects of others. Contributing to piracy makes companies lose money, which eventually costs their employees their jobs. Without jobs, those families wouldn't be able to provide for themselves. Plus, it would contribute to the ever growing unemployment issue. God doesn't want us to suffer, or hurt. He only wants the best for us. Therefore, I don't believe God would want us to contribute to software piracy.

  33. When developing a worksheet or presentation you have to take into consideration the alternatives that may pop up that you have to deal with later. A worksheet for instance cannot be so rigid that there is no possibility for the worksheet to change and adapt to new things in the future. If for some reason you do develop a worksheet in that fashion it can only be used for a short period of time, because it will become extinct. A presentation is basically a formalized outline of how we would like things to go. In laying out the outline, we cannot control how the audience will respond to the presentation or what questions may arise, so we have to plan ahead and think of alternatives. These are both things that the Bible gives us, an outline of how he wishes us to live our lives and the versatility and understanding that over time things will change and allowances have to be given for that. Just like in a spreadsheet, every action will change the end results, and every action does have consequences. This is how a spreadsheet and a presentation can be related to God's word.

  34. God has a plan for each and every one of us. He spent days, months, years preparing our life and he put great thought into each one of us. I believe when creating a spreadsheet or PowerPoint we need to sit and think about what our plan and objective is before we even open the document. Often times we try to rush things in life, thinking if we at least get it started, things / ideas will come to us. However, we need to spend more time in preparing and researching, even praying about our success. God did not create us in minutes, he took time and preparation. If we take more time and preparation when completing presentations we would be more successful.

For the information contained within them: be honest, truthful, and as clear as you can with what you are trying to communicate to avoid mis-understanding or frustration. Follow all applicable laws and give appropriate credit when you use or quote someone else’s work.

Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

Romans 13:1-2 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

  36. How can we relate God's Word to making an investment with technology? I belive we can relate God's Word to making investment with technology. The example I can give is with my church. We use technology to reach others that might not be able to visit and hear the sermon. in person. One can go our web-site and download to M3P ECT ECT the sermon. I was this all the time and when inviting someone to our church. I let me know about the service on-line, ask them to listen and if they like what they hear then the following week they can visit in person. Also the church offers prayers request and questions about the word via email. Our out reach center uses email to get the word srpead on events or mission ect, ect. Besides my church methods; there are many Christian Org and groups that buy needed technology for villages and poor areas as the preach and share the word. Mollie Abney-Einhaus ADM 316 - 01.19.11

  37. First, by planning, planning, planning. Before we take any action, we should plan what we are doing and examine why we are doing it. All of the course materials have taught this about Excel and Power Point, to plan ahead before you even open the application and start typing.
Second, to tell the truth. Use a spreadsheet or a presentation to be truthful. Don't manipulate statistics to avoid the truth. Don't hide a bad, unthoughtful, or even deceptive presentation behind colorful graphics and distracting clip art.

  41. I think the best way one can relate God's word in a worksheet or presentation is by using ones own personal relationship with God and preparing a presentation that reflects upon that relationship. Everyone knows the saying that God works through all of us differently, so why would a presentation be any different. What I mean is, do what is right for what you know, put your best Godly efforts into what you are serving others. -Rachel Zoellner

  42. In creating a worksheet or presentation, we must first plan. We have to decide the feel and look we want it to have, and what purpose we want it to serve. We also have to prepare ourselves for glitches that may come along as we assemble this worksheet or presentation to the final project. While we go through this process, it is important that we don't lose sight of what we want to accomplish. In this manner, we are working like God. He planned the Earth, the animals, and the human race. He made us, expecting flaws, and looking forward to the final product. WE are God's project, and WE are working through our flaws, with His guidance. WE are going to be His final product when the time is right.

As a business major, and an active leader in document formatting at my current employment, I create many documents, presentations and projects in my daily course of work. I have never considered myself working like God, but after reading this weeks devotional, I think I need to start thinking of Him as I do my job more. It may not change anything in the grand scheme of things, but just remembering I am working through Him might make the work less strenuous.

  43. God never gives up on us. He continues to work on us until we are the best us we can be. That is what it takes to do anything right, never give up, continue to review and adjust, tweak things to make them great. He wants us to tell His Love to the world and we create documents and presentations to tell something to our audience.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think that we should look at it like this: When creating a worksheet or presentation, we should keep in mind who our audience is and how our words and information will impact others. This is similar to how we need to keep in mind the God is watching us always and that we are expected to be advocates of His word. When people know that we are Christians, we need to keep in mind that we are being viewed as models for all Christians and what we put out there needs to be a positivte reflection of that. This is relatable to the work that we do and the presentations and worksheets that we create. It is important that in all aspects of life, both personal and professional, that we remind ourselves that we are representing Him.

    ReplyDelete
  45. When creating a worksheet or presentation, the information we present should be honest and accurate. We should put diligence and effort into the information we are calculating and presenting and double check it to ensure all formulas are accurate and the data which we are presenting represents the situation being presented. If we intentionally (or unintentionally) do not present the facts as they are, there is a great chance that we will be discovered and lose integrity within our organizations, or even worse, lose our jobs which then puts not only our lives in peril, but also our families.

  46. The devotion in workshop 3 is clear when relating obtaining software with God's Word. If you purchase the software and use it as it was intended without sharing it or anything else, then you are following God's Word with respect to honesty and integrity. If you do anything BUT purchase and use as intended, then you may be in trouble both in the eyes of God and the eyes of the law.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Proverbs 10:9 "The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out." How can we relate God's Word to obtaining software? If we walk in integrity we will not obtain software illegally nor share our purchased software with others. We will be honest in our practices before God showing respect to those who have worked hard to create the software and honoring God in the process. However, if we do obtain software illegally, be certain that eventually you will be found out. Even if others do not know HE DOES. He always does!

  48. Whether tempted to fudge on some numbers in a spreadsheet, steal some intellectual property for a presentation, or illegally copy and use software, integrity is an important issue to God. When we walk with integrity, Proverbs 10:9 tells us that we walk securely. However, when we cut corners, steal software or someone else's creativity we will be found out. In fact, God already knows!

Making right decisions based on the guidance we find in God's word will keep us on the right path. It is always easier to stay on the path than it is to try to get back on it after having fallen off. Yes, there is forgiveness....but the consequences that have to be paid can sometimes last a lifetime. It is better to work hard to maintain integrity in all areas than to allow ourselves to start down slippery slopes of poor ethics in what some would justify as minor issues. God's word is clear, either you have integrity or you don't. There is no such thing as mostly ethical.

  49. Every morning and evening I pray. I always ask God to help me to except his will even if I do not understand it because I know that his plan is more important than mine and it will make me much happier. When we make plans we have to be ready for the unexpected and be flexible. It may just be Gods plan taking over. It is not Gods plan for us to be unethical or without integrity. Integrity is what you do when no one is watching but ones integrity or lack of it will come to the attention of others.

We can use his word to help and or relate with presentation or designing a worksheet by putting every effort in doing our best as he would. We humans are to do our work as we are working for God. If this is done, your best work should come out every time you give a presentation, or any work related task.

  51. What this devotion says to me is we always need to be honest about what we are doing. If we are borrowing or copying something we need to make sure we give credit to the person that put forth the effort. There are occassions when in business, I'm using someone else's presentation or someone else's spreadsheet for my presentation. I always make sure that this is referenced somewhere so that proper credit is given. If I always act with integrity, I have nothing to worry about because I'm providing the honest truth about the information I'm presenting to someone. Stacey Lewis

  53. Jeremiah 29:11

    New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God tells of the plan he has and I think that we should do as God does and create a plan for whatever it is we're doing. Whether it's creating a spreadsheet or a presentation, we must have a plan.

A plan allows us to set a goal that we can map out on paper or computer that lays the steps we must take in order to achieve that goal.

While most people are not fond of creating plans and all the research that goes into it, one can rest easy knowing they've done the necessary research and created a solid plan that will propel them towards success.

    Thanks,

  54. I take the scripture to mean that shortcuts exist but in the end those who choose to use them will be found out. In worksheets this can mean the difference between referencing a cell or just manual entering a value. If I use a reference I am able to easily update my content, but if I act lazily then I enter the value directly, which in the long run has drastic effects on large worksheets. In part the decision to start projects correctly without shortcuts is an ethical decision, but it also shows your character. After you are “found out” what happens to your role in the company? Will you be fired for not working correctly? Even if you are not fired what happens to the confidence and trust that managers will give you? Instead do things correctly the first time. If it takes longer so be it. In the long run the functionality will outweigh the time used to reformat the project later.

  56. We can design a worksheet and still involve God. First off, we can put our trust in him that whatever the message we would like to send, will be read and understood by the audience-maybe even make a positive influence in their life. We can also give glory to God by including the scripture if possible and doing the best with our abilities that he has given us. If we do not do our best and choose to be lazy, "our crooked paths will be found out". We need to be honest and hardworking. We need to do as he did when he was here.

  57. I think that we can relate the scripture to using software by remembering that in everything we do we must be honest and maintain our integrity. We can do this by giving credit to others when we use them as a source or by being as hardworking as possible in order to be the best we can be. If we give fully to the projects we work on and we are honest in crediting our sources then we can be secure in our work and our actions. However, if we choose to be careless and dishonest we will eventually be found out and we will have to face the reprecussions of our actions.

  58. My mother always said "be sure your sins will find you out", and it is certainly true. Even if someone isn't blatantly caught, the general public is very intuitive. Presentations will not be as effective if you are not sincere or intentionally fudging the information to gain something. Data can be deadly in presentations if it is not accurate, whether intentional or not. To live with honesty and integrity in business as well as in your family life, will leave you sleeping on the bed of no regrets, and ending prosperous in both.

  59. When designing a spreadsheet or presentation, you should do your reasearch and be knowledgeable and honest about the subject. If you are dishonest during a presentation, you will be found out at some point throughout the presentation. If you are knowledgeable on the subject, the question and answer section will most likely let the audience know. During a spreadsheet, if you are dishonest, your numbers will not be correct and you will eventually be found out.

  60. Gaining with Honesty
“The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.”
How can we relate God’s Word to designing a worksheet or presentation?
I feel there are many ways to relate God’s Word to designing a worksheet or presentation.
First, God’s word if our “formula for life” We must always use His formula in all we do. Creating formulas while designing a worksheet should be done with honest and accurate information.
Second, God knows His plan for our life. When planning a presentation we must remember to serve Him. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (NIV)
Lastly, we must always remember to serve our Lord and to do ALL things with and through Him. We must always be honest with ourselves and others. We may not be caught or found out in this world but will have to answer to the LORD for our misdoings. Proverbs 2:6-9 ” For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair and you will find the right way to go.” (NLT)

  61. When God created us and the world it was similar to the creation of the worksheet, it started out with the thought and then with a process that created each individual thing on earth. A very good example of this is humans, when Adam was created there are many parts to the body and many vital organs that require work with each other to keep the human body alive. We have to know what each part does or what it interacts with to know how the human body functions. When we create a worksheet we have to know how each column and row need to interact with each other to get the final determination that we desire.

Kinda weird questions. Make sure when you are designing your worksheet or presentation that you are being factual and giving credit where credit is do. Take the honest higher road.

  63. In creating a worksheet, if we start off doing things the right way the whole worksheet will go easier and we will come up with the right answers in the end; it's the same way with God's word, if we start out listening to him, making good decisions and following what his word tells us to do, life would be easier and many of the answers we find will turn out correctly. We still may mess up along the way but it will still be easier if we do it God's way, the same as if we follow the formulas the way we should

  64. Creating a worksheet or presentation could be compared to creating your life or career, for example. If you start off by doing things the right way, then you build a good foundation from the bottom up. God's way is the right way, so if you start off life living God's way, then everything else will fall into place. It is the same with a worsheet. If you start off bad, then the rest of the worksheet will be bad as well, but, if you start off the right way, the rest of your worksheet should be just fine.

  65. I believe we relate God’s Word to designing a worksheet or presentation because God's word is powerful. I believe that everyone know the dedication that God has and how strong and powerful his message is. I think that this gives people the opportunity to drive for what they want. It encourages people to not give up and keep trucking. God constructed a plan for us. Being able to follow a plan demonstrates dedication. We all have to follow these step by step processes in order to achieve a goal that we set forth. Instructions are given to folks in their everyday lives, but not following instructions may have severe consequences.

When we create a worksheet or presentation we must devote time and effort into the project in order for it to be a viable project and one that would be acceptable to God. If you cut corners or use unorthodox methods to complete your projects someone will find out just as God will know you did as well.

  67. I think that we can relate God's word to a worksheet or presentation in the same way. We must take the time to properly do our best with a worksheet or presentation. You cannot expect to do a great job if you don't plan and prepare for either of these two things. You also cannot expect to go by God's word if you do not do the things that he tells you is right and wrong.

We need to do our projects the way that God would. We cannot write false statements that benefit our own good for a worksheet or presentation. You have to realize the audience is going to hear/see what you have come up with. Come up with your work in an honest way. The way that God would come up with it.

  68. This is Barbara Day, and I think you can relate the way we do our projects and presentations to God's word because as we are doing our work, we are doing our best to keep everything orderly. This is the same way with God's Word. This particular verse refers to someone of integrity walking a straight path, and one who takes crooked paths will be found out. We were just talking about this today after church. I've seen people who come to church and present themselves as a Christian, but when they leave church, they appear to others just as anyone else in the world. This isn't good for those who are not Christians. These people are watching and seeing their behavior, knowing that they don't appear to be any different than anyone else. Christians are supposed to set themselves apart from the rest of the world. People in the world should be able to see something different in us, so we give them a desire to have what we have. We can't walk uprightly one minute, then decide to take the opposite path the next. The Bible clearly tells us that we can't serve God and satan at the same time. When it comes to our projects at work, we can't submit work that isn't done in an manner that reflects the best work that we can do. We don't want to make people think that incomplete or sloppy work is the best that we can put out. We want others to see that we have done the best that we can do with whatever it is that we are working on.

  69. The passage speaks God's words in relation to us designing a worksheet or presentation, just as any other thing in life. When it comes to creating or doing something, there are two kinds of people; the person who creates their own, original ideas and works hard on them and the person who steals the other's ideas and has to worry about whether or not they will be caught. The passage really portrays this very well, because those who do their own work and put the time in can walk through life knowing that they did the best they could and that in God's eyes have done everything right. On the other hand are those who stole the idea from someone else and used it as their own and now have to constantly think about if they will be found out and what the consequences might be, not mention that in God's eyes you have done something wrong and goes against one of the commandments.

  70. Oh I love this question. Just as the Lord gave us clear ways to love Him and our neighbor, we can honor him by paying attention to details without missing the big picture. When focusing on materials and words we should strive for honesty, accuracy and to create what is pleasing in God's sight. Pam Simons

  71. Friday, November 4, 2011How can we relate God's Word to discovering new technologies?
Discovering new technologies is just like God's word. Every time we open His Word, revelation can be given to us. We can discover new things, even with scripture that we have read over and over. God is good! He wants us to discover new things each time we read so we keep coming back for more!

Christ wants us to put our whole heart into our new opportunities. Be the best by giving your best. Don't wonder what the past could have been like, instead expand the wonder to what the future will be!

Wednesday, November 2, 2011How can we relate God's Word to managing large numbers of files?
I relate this question to God's Word the Bible. The Bible to me has a large amount of files meaning his scriptures. Every verse has a meaning and we all get something different from each of these scriptures. I am a person who gets something different everytime I read a scripture. We can store all of these files or scriptures in are heads and carry them around with us wherever we go. We learn alot from reading files, memorizing them and we can do the same with God's Word, we can read and read and memorize and use these files to improve are lives. We can store God's Word in are hearts and share his word with others.

Friday, October 28, 2011How can we relate God's Word to designing a worksheet or presentation?
With a spreadsheet, what kind of data are you trying to record and do you need to calculate an end result? With a presentation, who is your audience and what story are you trying to tell? Then you develop your 'core' parts, then lay the road ahead to get there. Very similar to the way God works with us - though I never would have seen the similarity before. I think we can relate God's word to creating worksheets or presentations by being ethical. It's God's will for us to be ethical and honest in everything we do. We should always strive to do a presentation for example to the best of our ability. We should also only take credit for work that is our own not someone's else.I have never thought of God's work in us like a spreadsheet, but it does make sense. God records all of are works and they get calculated in the end by God. We record everything on a spreadsheet and God records all of are works in his hands. This is an awesome comparison.
